W5E – Total Solar Eclipse
K5GVL participated in the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse event, operating under the special event callsign W5E. This was a unique opportunity to provide communications support and public outreach during this rare astronomical event.

W5M – Audie Leon Murphy
K5GVL commemorated the life and legacy of Audie Leon Murphy, America's most decorated World War II soldier, through our special event station W5M. This event honored his memory and contributions to our nation.
- Annual Event: June 20th (Audie Murphy Day)
- Location: Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum
- Purpose: Honor and remembrance
- Special Event Callsign: W5M
