VE Testing
Amateur Radio License Testing Services
About VE Testing
K5GVL provides Volunteer Examiner (VE) testing services for all classes of Amateur Radio licenses. Our team of certified Volunteer Examiners conducts testing sessions to help new and existing amateur radio operators obtain or upgrade their licenses.
Testing sessions are held regularly at our club location, and we follow the guidelines set forth by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Volunteer Examiner Coordinator (VEC).
Testing Information
Our VE testing sessions are conducted by a team of experienced Volunteer Examiners. Testing is free of charge.
All applicants must have registered with the FCC and provide their FRN (FCC Registration Number) at the time of testing. If you haven't registered yet, please visit the FCC CORES Registration System to obtain your FRN before the testing session.
Please bring the following to your testing session:
- Your FCC FRN number
- Two forms of identification (one must be a photo ID)
- Your current license (if upgrading)
- Original and copy of any CSCEs (if applicable)
Upcoming Testing Sessions
VE testing is available at our regular monthly club meetings. Please check our meetings page for the next meeting date and time. Contact us in advance to confirm your attendance and to ensure we have enough Volunteer Examiners available.
